A Summer Splash with the Tandoori Salmon Bowl

A Summer Splash with the Tandoori Salmon Bowl

As the summer heat swells, we're all on the hunt for refreshing yet satisfying dishes that won't weigh us down. Today, I have an offering that perfectly fits that bill - the Tandoori Salmon Bowl.

This vibrant, healthful, and hearty bowl pairs wonderfully marinated and cooked salmon with an array of fresh and flavorful ingredients. The star of this dish, without a doubt, is the salmon. We marinate the salmon chunks in a mixture of Greek yogurt, our Tandoori Heaven Spice Blend, olive oil, minced garlic, and a dash of lime for that extra zest. This concoction, once enveloped around the salmon and grilled to perfection, will leave your taste buds doing a happy dance.

While the salmon steals the show, the supporting cast is no less exceptional. The accompaniments include a bed of aromatic turmeric rice, protein-rich green lentils, crunchy Persian cucumbers, succulent grape tomatoes, and tangy pickled onions, bringing a symphony of textures and flavors to your plate.

However, no bowl is complete without a good dressing, right? We're serving this bowl with a fresh, homemade cilantro-mint dressing that is as smooth and delightful as a summer breeze. This blend of fresh herbs, Greek yogurt, garlic, lime, and a sprinkle of cumin will add a creamy and tangy complement to the grilled salmon and vibrant veggies.

This bowl is not only a feast for your taste buds but also for your eyes. The colors are as vibrant and lively as a summer garden - it's like having a picnic right in your bowl!

What I love the most about this Tandoori Salmon Bowl is its versatility. Depending on your mood, you can tweak the ingredients. Add some roasted bell peppers for a bit of smoky sweetness, toss in some olives for a briny kick, or sprinkle some feta for a creamy tang. The possibilities are endless!

Preparing this Tandoori Salmon Bowl is like a fun and creative journey - from marinating the salmon, blending the dressing, to assembling the final bowl, every step is an exciting adventure.

So,  why not bring a dash of culinary excitement into your kitchen this summer with this Tandoori Salmon Bowl? Not only is it good for you, but it's also a delightful, refreshing way to enjoy the season's bounty.

  • 1 pound of fresh salmon, cut into cubes
  • For the Salmon Marinade:
    • 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
    • 2 tablespoons of Tandoori Heaven Spice Blend
    • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
    • 3-4 cloves of minced garlic
    • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
    • Juice of one lime
    • Pinch of salt
  • For the Dressing:
    • 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro
    • 1/4 cup of fresh mint
    • 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt
    • 1 clove of garlic, minced
    • Juice of one lime
    • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin
    • Salt to taste
  • For the Bowl:
    • Turmeric rice
    • Cooked green lentils
    • Persian cucumbers, sliced
    • Grape tomatoes
    • Pickled onions
    • Chopped cilantro

  1. Begin by prepping the marinade for the salmon. Combine Greek yogurt, Tandoori Heaven Spice Blend, olive oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Toss the cubed salmon in the marinade until well coated, then allow to marinate for at least an hour.
  2. While your salmon is marinating, assemble your dressing. In a food processor, combine cilantro, mint, Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, and salt to taste. Blend until smooth.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F or heat up your grill. If baking, place salmon on a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes. If grilling, grill the salmon cubes for about 4 minutes per side until done to your liking.
  4. Now, it's time to assemble your bowl. Start with a base of turmeric rice, then layer with green lentils, sliced Persian cucumbers, grape tomatoes, chopped cilantro and pickled onions.
  5. Top your vibrant bowl with the cooked Tandoori salmon skewers and a generous drizzle of your fresh cilantro-mint dressing.

There you have it, a Salmon Tandoori Bowl that's as versatile as it is delicious. Enjoy this treat!
